Beulah

General Manager
Beulah holds a degree in Ancient History and Archaeology, in History of Art and Architecture, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Irish Translation. With a specialised interest in folklore, mythology, vernacular Irish architecture, and traditional crafts, she brings a wealth of knowledge to her role. Beulah also has 16 years of experience as a branding consultant to global brands, which she applies to the strategic development of lonad Cois Locha. She has been managing the centre since 2022, overseeing its growth and working to increase its accessibility and cultural offerings.

Rosemary

Operations Co-ordinator
Rosemary joined the team in 2023 and has quickly become an integral part of the business operations. Initially brought on to run the office, her role has evolved to include overseeing the day-to-day running of the centre. Rosemary Keeps our finances in shape, handles enquiries, manages shop purchases, and liaises with collaborative partners and visitors. Her experience in the tourist sector, her interest in the local history and landscape, and her training in horticulture and business management all combine to make her indispensable. Rosemary is passionate about our rewilding efforts and has put a lot of work into developing the wildflower patches around Ionad Cois Locha.

Maureen

Administrative Assistant
Maureen is the first point of contact when you call or email Ionad Cois Locha. With her warm and welcoming manner, she ensures that all your queries are handled efficiently. Maureen is a key player in keeping the centre running smoothly, offering support to the rest of the team and ensuring our visitors have the information they need.

Laura

Marketing & Tourism Officer 
Laura is the main point of contact for all bookings, whether you’re a tour guide, a business looking to collaborate, or a visitor planning a trip. With her background in marketing and degree in Commerce, she is passionate about showcasing the unique experiences Ionad Cois Locha has to offer. Dedicated to growing the centre’s reach, Laura actively builds relationships within the tourism industry, creating partnerships that enhance visitor engagement. Her fresh perspective and enthusiasm help bring the centre’s rich cultural heritage to a wider audience, ensuring every guest leaves with a memorable experience.

Bríd

Front of House Team
Bríd is the first friendly face you see when you arrive at our reception here at Ionad Cois Locha. Bríd has been with us for 19 years, embodying the warm and authentic spirit of the centre. Her welcoming approach ensures that every visitor feels at home, while her passion for the local culture and language enriches the visitor experience.

Paul

Boat Driver
Hailing from Inishbofin off the Donegal coast, Paul grew up around fishing boats and has a lifetime of maritime knowledge. He is happiest when engaging with visitors, sharing his wealth of local knowledge, and piloting the boat tours around the lake. Paul is also a talented craftsman and sells handmade wooden chopping boards in our shop, which reflect the craftsmanship and natural beauty of the area.

Outdoor Team

John, Tommy & David
John, Tommy, and David are the team responsible for managing the outdoor areas, including the play area and sensory garden. Their dedication ensures that the outdoor experience is enjoyable and safe for all visitors. They particularly enjoy interacting with the children who attend the facility and are always happy to speak Irish, regardless of the visitor’s language level. Their work helps to create a vibrant and welcoming environment at Ionad Cois Locha.

Marcia

Retail Coordinator
Originally from Brazil, Marcia brings a wonderful sense of creativity and flair to our retail space. She is responsible for the shop set-up, ensuring that it is visually appealing and stocked with unique, locally crafted goods. Marcia’s artistic touch adds an extra layer of charm to the centre, enhancing the overall visitor experience. 

Martina Neller

Tour Guide 
Martina, originally from Cologne, Germany, has a deep connection to the history of our weaver’s cottage. A self-taught weaver, she has taken up the traditional crafts that Sophy, the former inhabitant of the cottage, is said to have practised. Martina researches and tests natural dyes, crochets, and knits, continuing the heritage of textile craftsmanship that is central to Ionad Cois Locha. Her eccentric and fun-loving personality makes her a beloved character among staff and visitors alike.

Peter

Facilities & Technology Specialist 
Peter has a diverse background in web development, joinery, and all things technological. He has made himself the go-to person for anything that needs attending to in the centre—whether it’s fixing a broken door, making a sandbox, creating a set of sculptures, sorting out bookkeeping issues, or organising the timetables. Peter’s hands-on approach and wide-ranging skills make him indispensable to the smooth running of Ionad Cois Locha, ensuring that any challenge is met with a practical solution.
